Since Milan’sInsurance Agent position open on January 5 2025, it was looking for an Insurance Agent to join its team.

An Insurance Agent’s primary focus is protecting individuals and entities against the uncertainties of life. This is done by availing personal insurance plans.

An insurance agent is willing to hire a subagent or insurance consultant who currently holds a client base and can manage organic growth for the agency portfolio. A section E registration is mandatory.

Responsibilities of an Insurance Agent is outlined as follows:

  • Maintain continuous communication with clients and provide problem-solving guidance. This is referred to as ‘account based development‘.
  • Conduct the sales funnel by addressing the needs of clients through a comprehensive understanding of their challenges and matching their concerns to a suitable contract or commercial proposal.
  • Offer other forms of insurance e.g. life, home, and health insurance protection.

The ideal agent on record is the one who proactively seeks and develops relationships with their clients.

Advising Clients: Recommend and explain possible coverage options and the accompanying risks and benefits.

Building Relationships: Develop suitable client relationships and market yourself for new business.

Claims Assistance: Help the client evaluate and assist in the processing of insurance claims so that he/she gets the benefit of maximum coverage.

Record Maintenance: Classify and systematically maintain the records of the clients’ policies, claims, and payments for easy retrieval.

Proposals: Draft and send insurance proposals to the underwriters for their approval.

Requirements:

For the sake of this position, the following must be true:

Education: Relevant degree and/or diploma.

Communication: Good with people and able to communicate and relate with others.

Proactivity and Curiosity: Will shows initiative and is able to grow within the role.

People Oriented: Has a strong people skill and able to connect with the clients easily.

Commercial: Has a sales ability and is customer driven.

Other requirements include:

Experience: Minimum one year in insurance or sales position.

Licensing: Active insurance sales agent license for Life and/or Property and/or Casualty.

Knowledge on Insurance: Having knowledge on polices and principles, products and regulations on insurance.

Skills: Proficient at negotiation, able to provide customer satisfaction and able to cuistomers.

Computer Proficiency: Have knowledge on MS Office and client management software.

Driving License: Unblemished driving history and a current valid driver’s license.
