Consortio have partnered with an internationally recognized shipping company based in Hamburg. They have 40 years’ experience in the shipping business and are currently expanding. They offer many different services within the shipping and maritime sector and are extremely focused on offering brilliant guest satisfaction ratings. Due to the rapidly expanding team they are currently hiring Security Guards.
As a Security Guard you will be responsible for General surveillance of the vessels, security checks and control of all persons entering and leaving the ship, liaising with other river cruise ships to ensure smooth operations, communicating with nautical and hospitality departments, monitoring guest property on arrival and departure day and welcoming guests on behalf on the assigned vessel.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol and monitor: Conduct regular patrols on foot or in a vehicle to deter theft, violence, and rule infractions. Monitor surveillance equipment like CCTV cameras and respond to alarms.
- Control access: Monitor and authorize the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles. This can include verifying identification and issuing passes.
- Respond to emergencies: Act as a first responder to alarms, medical emergencies, or other disturbances. This may include providing first aid, coordinating with law enforcement or fire departments, and assisting with evacuations.
- Report and document: Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, visitors, and incidents. Prepare incident reports for any unusual occurrences, such as property damage, theft, or security breaches.
- Enforce rules: Ensure compliance with company policies and building regulations. Intervene in conflicts and enforce rules with professionalism.
- Provide assistance: Offer directions, answer inquiries, and provide customer service to visitors and staff.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Good judgment and the ability to make quick decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical fitness, as the role often involves standing or walking for long periods.
- The ability to remain calm in stressful situations and work independently or as part of a team.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is often the minimum educational requirement.
- A valid security license or certification may be required depending on local regulations.
